The Brief & Fabrication Challenge

An entrepreneur aimed to launch a flagship coffee shop in New York, planning a high-profile grand opening event with key stakeholders. This made the on-time completion and installation of all signage absolutely critical to their launch strategy. The challenge was delivered to us as a pure manufacturing partner: to produce all signage from non-technical visual concepts within an impossible-seeming deadline.

Key Manufacturing Challenges:

1. No Production-Ready Files: Only architectural renderings were provided, requiring complete technical drawing recreation from scratch.

2. Complex, Large-Scale Fabrication: Unconventional interior wall panels with intricate cut-out designs posed significant engineering and assembly challenges.

3. Extreme Time Pressure: The entire project—from file recreation to production and crating—had to be completed within 15 calendar days to meet the immovable installation and opening date.

Our Fabrication Solution

We activated a dedicated project team to execute a parallel-track workflow, treating this as a critical path project.

1. Technical Translation & DFM: 

Our in-house design team reverse-engineered the renderings into precise, manufacturable CAD drawings within 48 hours, concurrently consulting with engineering on material and process feasibility.

2. Engineering & Material Strategy:

l Exterior Signage: Proposed and built front-lit, borderless channel letters using 316 stainless steel and IP65 waterproof components for durability, with extended leads for easy switch control.

l Interior Features: Used 304 stainless steel for backlit letters. For the large decorative wall panels, we engineered a segmented fabrication plan using woodgrain-finished stainless steel, ensuring seamless visual continuity while enabling production, shipping, and installation.

3. Precision Manufacturing & Logistics: 

The production schedule was re-sequenced to prioritize this project without disrupting other orders. All components underwent rigorous quality checks before being professionally crated for secure transit.
