OAKBERRY is a world-renowned health-food quick-service chain, famous for its premium açaí bowls and wholesome offerings, with locations spanning multiple countries. In the U.S. market, the brand continues to expand, opening new stores across major cities.

Our partner is a well-established American signage company responsible for delivering signage systems for select OAKBERRY locations. The project followed a "sample-first" model: we were required to produce a complete set of sample signage for one upcoming store. Only after the brand verified the quality and appearance of this sample would subsequent orders for additional locations be released.

The client's core requirements were clear and stringent:

Precision Color Matching: The client provided detailed design files and renderings, specifying the signage color temperature, drainage holes, and other technical parameters. However, no usable paint color codes were included in the design documents, preventing direct production.

Sample as Gatekeeper: The sample had to achieve a flawless reproduction of the intended design. It was the sole entry ticket for all future store orders.

Fabrication Challenges & Our Solutions

Challenge: Accurately Reproducing Brand Colors Without Color Codes

The brand enforced rigorous visual consistency standards. While the client's design package included renderings, color temperature parameters, and structural details, it lacked critical production information—paint color codes. For a chain restaurant brand, any color deviation could undermine the uniform brand perception held by customers.

Our Solution:
Rather than passively waiting for the client to provide color codes, our engineering team proactively undertook the challenge of color reproduction:

·       Based on the client's provided renderings and our study of the OAKBERRY visual identity system, we conducted multiple rounds of paint mixing and sampling in our factory laboratory.

·       We produced a range of gradient color swatches and physically shipped them to the United States for the client and brand team to compare on-site.

·       Based on their feedback, we fine-tuned the paint formulation, ultimately locking in the color code that best matched the brand's standard.

This process not only resolved the production bottleneck but also demonstrated our professional ethos to the client—we are not merely a fabricator executing provided drawings, but a craft partner capable of proactively solving complex problems.

The complete set of sample signage was successfully completed and delivered. Upon review, both the client and the brand team expressed high approval of the paint color fidelity, the uniform illumination of the trimless channel letters, and the overall structural quality of the lightbox.
